Moo Who? Scoring System & Scoreboard Explained
What the update added
Five days after launch, SAT Productions shipped the game’s first feature update: the Scoreboard & Scoring System Update (August 26, 2026). Straight from the official announcement, it contains four pieces:
- Live scoreboard and rankings. Points accumulate throughout each round, and your position on the scoreboard updates live as you play.
- Role-based scoring. Animals and hunters earn points differently, “based on their roles, objectives, and performance” — and winning the round rewards additional points on top.
- Score feedback. Short on-screen notifications show each time you earn points, with visual effects when your score or ranking changes, localized in all supported languages.
- Consistent end-game rankings. The final results screen now uses the same scoring system as the live scoreboard, so the end-of-round order matches what you watched during play.
The update also fixed issues “affecting achievements, scoring, player rankings, UI updates, and round transitions.”
What earns points
The developers have not published an exact point table — no official list of “X points per elimination” exists as of August 27, 2026. What the announcement confirms:
| Confirmed | Source |
|---|---|
| Different point actions for animals vs hunters | Official announcement |
| Performance during the round earns points (not just the result) | Official announcement |
| Winning the round grants bonus points | Official announcement |
| Rankings update live during the round | Official announcement |
Reasonable inferences from the role objectives — surviving longer as an animal, landing correct eliminations as a hunter — appear to drive scoring, but treat any specific numbers you see elsewhere as unconfirmed until SAT Productions publishes a breakdown. We will update this page when they do.
Why it changes how you play
Before the update, a round was binary: survive or don’t, sweep or don’t. With per-action scoring, partial success counts:
- Animals: outliving half the herd earns something even if you die late — passive ghost-hiding all round is now measurably worse than surviving actively. The animal guide strategies all still apply.
- Hunters: shot discipline gets a number attached. Confident eliminations score; spraying the herd doesn’t. See the hunter guide for the tells worth waiting for.
The scoreboard also gives the game its first visible skill ladder within a lobby — expect competitive lobbies to sort sharply around it.
New to the game? Start with how to play — the scoring layer sits on top of the same core loop.
Thanks for the feedback!
